No Brian this week, but we have former Dr. Dog guitarists Andrew and Doug back for another trip to Rome, NY by way of Kingston, ON's own The Tragically Hip. This band is pretty amazing, and brain cancer is decidedly not, so please consider donating to the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research: https://donate.sunnybrook.ca/braincancerresearch

Brian is out on assignment once again, so this week's panel features returning former Dr. Dog guitarists Andrew Jones and Doug O'Donnell. The subject this week is famed dorm room coaster Dave Matthews Band, who deliver an energetic performance of their empty flip-flop rock. Doug bangs out a song by another Dave, and Jones reveals the alternate version of "Crash" that resides in his wife's addled brain. In this episode the Classic Quartet (Ror/Flom/Finn/Bri) covers the performance that may best embody everything that was good and bad about Woodstock '99. An undeniably powerful band that tapped into some of the worst impulses of the assembled throng, however inadvertently. We don't really get into that here, though, it's really just a lot of air drumming, head bobbing, and unrelated stuff like: Desert Island Discs for Matrix Guy, and Movies Where One Guy Kills Everybody. Pat sincerely hopes you'll watch along here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9S-JVKw0mE

Episode 0028 was not the first time we talked about Jewel with Carol Cleveland Sings. No, a few weeks earlier we did an entire episode that was instantaneously vaporized by the fickle whim of a cruel MacBook. So later than night, after CCS and Rick departed, Pat and Rory sat down to talk about their abject devastation. This is the curious result. They talk about Jewel, love's bitter mystery, and Dayton, Ohio legends Guided By Voices. Quite a lot about Guided by Voices, as it turns out. So I hope you like Guided By Voices.

Inspiring creative dynamos Carol Cleveland Sings (Gretchen Lohse and Thomas Hughes) come on the podcast to help us watch Jewel's set from Woodstock '99, which features some great songs, some yodeling, and many, many guitars. We also spend some time deriding Kurt Loder (who for at least a few minutes in the 90s was a total dirtbag), as well as consoling Pat because he's not married to Jewel.
